JUNIOR FITNESS
Rules and Judging Criteria
The Junior Fitness Division of the SNBF Competitions will consist
of two classes. The first class will range from ages 6 to 12 and
the second class will range from ages 13 to 16. The criteria used
to judge the Junior Fitness Class will be based on two categories:
(1) Routines and (2) Presentation / Costume.
Routines
Junior contestants can demonstrate martial arts, gymnastics, dance.
aerobics, cheerleading, or any activity that shows strength, flexibility,
endurance, and performance skills for their routine. Strength moves
should be held for at least a second or more but there are no requirements
for strength moves. Contestants should only pick moves that they
can do well. Points will be deducted for moves performed incorrectly.
Presentation / Costume
Costumes will also be judged during the fitness routine so special
attention should be given to all outfits. Please make sure that
the costumes are picked tastefully. Hair should be away from the
face. No jewelry is permitted. Props are allowed but must be approved
by The SNBF Officials at least 2 weeks prior to the competition.
Music
Music should be recorded professionally. Routines should be at least
30 seconds and should not exceed 60 seconds. No Profanity will be
allowed!
Judging Procedures
The judges will look for routines that demonstrate flexibility,
strength and endurance. All costumes should be chosen in good taste
but should also show personality!! Remember, it is not how long
your routine is but what you do in the time you are performing.
All moves should be executed well!! Better to be shorter and be
executed well than to be long with lots of dead time. Your routine
should be put together with the main focus of “entertaining!”
SNBF
BODYBUILDING PHYSIQUE COMPETITION
Judging Criteria
The criteria used to judge a physique is based upon three equal
aspects:
(1) Symmetry, (2) Muscularity, and (3) Presentation.
1. Symmetry:
Symmetry refers to the structural harmony of the physique relative
to the size of the various body parts. Shape, proportion, detail,
definition, and balance of each body part in relation to one another
must give a cohesive whole and overall balance.
2. Muscularity:
Muscularity refers to the size of the muscles in relation to skeletal
structure, shape, hardness, and definition. Separation between adjacent
muscles, muscle groups, and striations within a muscle or muscle
group are also considered in the judging process. Thin skin and
low bodyfat, along with a lack of water retention enhance the muscular
appearance.
3. Presentation:
Presentation is the effective display of the contestant's asset
through posing ability, posture, projection, and carriage on stage.
Skin tone, grooming, and posing outfit are a part of presentation.
The selection of poses and their proper execution, the smoothness
of transitions, and the coordinated selection of music all enhance
the routine and presentation.
